HOT ROLLED
-
Also called mild steel, it is the most common category of steel such as 44W, 50W, A36.
-
Low carbon.
-
General uses, economical and versatile.
-
Easy to use for cutting, welding, machining, etc.
-
Use for general welding, structural and architectural applications
-
Other grades and heat treatment are available upon request.
COLD ROLLED AND SPECIALTY ALLOY
Offered in a wide selection of sheets, round bars, square bars, flat bars, hexagonal bars and triangular bar (Chamfer).
The rolling process gives a more polished surface, a much more precise tolerance and straightness, increases the breaking load and the elastic limit which increases its machinability capacities.
THE MAIN GRADES (NUANCE)
-
CR1018
-
Most common grade in cold rolled, low carbon, good machinability
-
Excellent for soldering
-
C12L14
-
Cold rolling, low carbon content and an addition of lead makes it malleable and perfect for machining
-
Not recommended for welding and bending
-
Grade 4140
-
Cold rolled, high hardness offering good resistance to wear, abrasion, impact and high temperatures
-
HSDF Grade 1045
-
Cold rolled, precision bar, polished and ground to exact tolerances
-
Use for precision needs, offers good hardness
-
Not recommended for welding and is difficult to machine
-
STRESSPROOF Grade 1144 ASTM A311
-
Cold rolled, strong bar with high yield strengths still offering good hardness
-
It can be welded by induction
TOOL STEELS
The design process used to produce this steel results in a high hardness, high wear resistance, an ability to withstand high temperatures and a high resistance to abrasives. This category of steel is mainly used in the design of tools and mechanical parts, thus offering increased reliability for the most demanding industrial applications. If you are looking for quality materials for your fabrication projects, wear resistant steel is a wise choice to ensure superior performance and increased durability.
